BELINDA CAFE

Located in the Wofson Tower in Jerusalem, the Belida Cafe is a great place to grab a nice dairy lunch, afternoon snack, late mornng breakfast or “aruchat eser (10:00am snack time).” Supervision is Rabbanut, and although a dairy restaurant, the certificate states Mehadrin.

As it turns out, daughter Tali is friends with the head chef there- the two are gym partners and Tali often lends a hand at the restaurant, both behind the scenes as well as out front. As a result, walking in there with her is like old home week!

The menu is light: soups, sandwiches, salads, pastas, hot and cold beverages, quiches, and some of the most delish baked on the premises desserts, including Mollie’s famous muffins.

We had a Greek salad, and Tali had a mushroom salad. Both were huge and tasty. Salads are served with fresh baked rolls- either white or black. After finishing our huge salads, neither one of us wanted dessert. However, Mollie-the head chef- stopped by the table and insisted that Tali have one of her famous Techina cookies. We tried a teensy tiny taste. Wowzers! It was amazing. It tasted like it should be called a halavah cookie.

Prices are good. The cafe is in a mall, so the atmosphere is mall standard. But lots of people come and go and we heard a multitude of accents and languages while we sat and ate.

All in all, it was a pleasant way to spend our lunch hour.
