Hershey Kisses are 100 years old. Amazing, init? They look so young, so fresh, so perky……..
Anyway, here is more info than you could ever really want to know about those little, silver wrapped confections:
It takes 90 Kisses to make a pound.
At the factory, Kisses are wrapped at the rate of 1300 per minute.
During WW2, production of Kisses was briefly suspended due to rationing of the silver foil.
In 1962, the company introduced colored silver foil wrappers.
The paper that sticks out of the Kiss is called a plume.
