GLUTEN FREE MATZAH- IT’S NOT JUST FOR PESACH!

FROM KOSHER TODAY, NOV. 7,2011

Gluten Free Matzo No Longer Just a Passover Luxury
Bayonne, NJ….It made news on the eve of Passover and apparently is now news for year-round. The Yehuda Gluten Free Matzo Style Squares, announced Kedem Foods, the distributor, will now be available for year-round use. The product has received broad coverage in a newsletter published by the Celiac Disease Foundation. “We were fortunate with the introduction of Yehuda Gluten Free Matzo-Style Squares, but we didn’t anticipate the demand from outside the kosher community.” said Harold Weiss, VP of Sales for Kedem Food Products, “We knew we had something big when we started seeing tweets from people saying they were buying it by the case, sharing with the online community what stores carried it, what stores just got shipments and seeing it on websites having nothing to do with Passover.”
The new Yehuda Gluten Free Matzo-Style Squares will include a Toasted Onion which combines the same great taste and crunch as the original Yehuda Gluten Free Matzo-Style Crackers with a light toasted onion flavor, perfect for snacking, dipping and as a bread substitute. “The history of our company and of our products put us in a unique position to be gluten free experts, and not just because we say so, we’ve gone through the steps to receive gluten free certification from the Gluten-Free Certification Organization (GFCO) and we’re proud sponsors of the Celiac Disease Foundation (CDF) a non-profit, public benefit corporation dedicated to providing services and support regarding Celiac Disease and Dermatitis Herpetiformis, through programs of awareness, education, advocacy and research” added Mr. Weiss, “As the demand for gluten free products continues to grow, we’ll continue to increase our offerings always welcoming feedback and suggestions.”
