New Kosher Wines To Watch

Secaucus NJ…New kosher wines are always an important part of Kosherfest. Led by Royal Wines, this year’s selection, according to Gabriel Miller is an interesting mix. From Israel come such wines as Shiloh Secret Reserve Malbec 2016, Teperberg Essence Malbec 2014, Carmel Admon Malbec 2014; from California Herzog Lineage Chardonnay 2016, Herzog Lineage Sauvignon Blanc 2017, Herzog Lineage Rosé 2017, Herzog Lineage Choreograph 2016, Herzog Lineage Pinot Noir 2017, and Herzog Lineage Cabernet Sauvignon 2016. Geller notes that “kosher wine consumers are getting more and more into the fascinating world of white wines and its world of aromas and flavors. From California, Herzog Wine Cellars introduced the first ever kosher Albariño, a white grape variety originating in Spain’s Rias Baixas appellation. The Herzog Special Reserve Albariño is made from grapes grown in California’s Edna Valley AVA. He notes that many of the new white wines come from France including a new Chardonnay from Burgundy by Domaine Ternynck, a Pouilly Fumé by Domaine Bailly and Bordeaux, with 2 very elegant dry white Bordeaux wines: G de Château Guiraud and Château Lacaussade Saint-Martin, both blends of Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc.

Pacifica winery introduced perhaps the top crowd-pleasing wine of the year. Their semi-dry Riesling sourced from grapes grown by the Columbia Gorge in the state of Washington is the exemplification of a well-balanced wine. For the red Bordeaux wines, Château Lascombes, a prestigious 2nd Classified Growth Margaux has released this year a first kosher run. So did Château Cantenac Brown, a 3rd Classified Growth Margaux. As well, we are excited to soon introduce Château du Tertre, a 5th Classified Growth Margaux.Tzafona Cellars from Canada just came up with an Ice Wine from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.
