YOTVETA

Located in Queens along Union Tpk, Yotveta is an Israeli style dairy restaurant. Under the Queens Vaad, the restaurant is located at 188 Street on Union Turnpike in Jamaica Estates.

The restaurant is smallish and almost always crowded. Due to inadequate sound proofing, conversation is often impossible as the combined decibel level in the place is nothing less than ear shattering! On the one hand, it is a joyful sound, and on the other hand, some measure of quiet would be quite welcome.

Food at Yotveta is always excellent. The stuffed portebella mushroom appetizer is fit for the whole table and is amazing! Omelettes are fresh and tasty. Sandwiches are fantastic. Salads are enticing. All in all, the entire menu there is worthwhile. We did once have some reservations about a pasta dish (it was dry even though it was Alfredo), but the wait staff was very good about taking it back and getting it fixed.

Desserts are just what you would expect in dairy restaurant- rich, delicious and mouth watering.

We have been there a number of times and certain things remain constant- the noise level is too high, the food is excellent, the staff is courteous and helpful and the experience is worthwhile.
