SAUSAGES

Posted on November 19, 2004

Over on Kosherblog, there is an excellent review about Empire’s new sausage line. We agree with the review written there- the sausages were horrible. They were dry, not very tasty, and pretty much redolent of a chicken hot dog! Neshamah, on the other hand, as Kosherblog points out, has introduced some really fine sausages. We Continue Reading »

From the online newsletter Israelinsider: Israel is bracing for a possible invasion of biblical proportions: a swarm of voracious vegetarians. The Agriculture Ministry is on “locust alert” after sightings of the ravenous arthropods were spotted along the Mediterranean coast [earlier this month], especially south of Tel Aviv around Palmahim beach. Ministry experts visited there to Continue Reading »

A lot of people swear that wasabi clears the nasal passages. A lot of other people say it doesn’t. So- who’s right? It seems that noted Doctor, David Cameron queried 22 people. He asked them to breathe through their nose just before and just after eating wasabi straight up. Fifteen participants had measurable nasal congestion Continue Reading »

GRAVY FLAVORED SODA???

Posted on November 12, 2004

This has to be the weirdest news story we have ever seen. We do not know if the products are kosher, but we felt the story just sort of cries out for repetition here. So, sit back and prepare to laugh out loud! Dieters looking forward to a Thanksgiving meal but worried about their waistline Continue Reading »

HOW NOW MINI COW

Posted on November 11, 2004

Gotta love this story! It seems that farmers in Cuba have bred mini cows that stand about 28 inches high! That is about the size of a dog. These mini cows can deliver four to five quarts of milk per day! Not too shabby, eh? These cows are so small you can keep a whole Continue Reading »

MIRACLE GLACAGE

Posted on November 10, 2004

One of the neatest things we saw at Kosherfest was Miracle Glacage. This Kof-K Dairy certified product is an amazing glaze that instantly dries and leaves fruit, for example, with a wonderful looking glaze. You simply heat some of the product in a sauce pan and dip whatever you want glazed into the sauce. Voila! Continue Reading »

MUSTA BEEN SLEEPIN’ ON DA JOB!

Posted on November 9, 2004

We admit it- we have not been paying attention to the cake and cookie aisle of the supermarket of late as we try to pare down the avoirdupois. As a result, we seem to have missed the big news! Entenmann’s DEVIL’S FOOD CAKE COOKIES and FUDGE DELIGHTS CRISPY COOKIES (Fudge and Peanutbutter) are NOT kosher. Continue Reading »

WHO CUT THE CHEESE?

Posted on November 8, 2004

Actually, ’twas our host who cut the cheese and put it into the salad and also served it in the yard with cut fruit slices. We had never tasted this cheese before, and it was wonderful. Quite frankly, sitting in the back yard in November in NYS was a treat all by itself. Eating the Continue Reading »
