BLACK’S BURGER AND BAR

Posted on July 14, 2011

Take out from this kosher restaurant in Jerusalem is an adventure. We have never seen food so carefully prepped for take out orders. We had the Norma Jean- hamburger made from ground entrecote. It is a most wonderful creation. No junk cuts of meat thrust into the grinder- this is great meat, lovingly prepared. The Continue Reading »

Our grandson has a very discerning palate for a three year old. He is a very good eater who essentially eats all foods. But, he does have his faves. One of his faves is that he loves to eat at the lobby dairy restaurant in the Dan Panorama Jerusalem. He always orders the pasta in Continue Reading »

LUCIANNA REDUX

Posted on January 31, 2011

Long time readers of this blog know that the last time we went to Lucianna (over a year ago), we were positive we would never go back. The experience was just so unacceptable on so many levels, we felt that we had no reason to ever go there again. On a scale of one to Continue Reading »

CARLOS AND GABBY’S GLATT KOSHER MEXICAN GRILL

Posted on June 17, 2010

There are a few of these around the Metro NYC area, so we thought we would try one out. The food was tasty, but………….. The decor is meant to evoke a dusty cantina south of the border as played in every old movie. It sort of succeeds, but not really. On the other hand, the Continue Reading »

L’ BELLA KOSHER ITALIAN CUISINE

Posted on April 29, 2010

Forget the bad Italian grammar and the spelling errors on the menu. This place is a delight! The tables are nicely set, if a tad too close together, the ambiance wonderful, and the food great. Appetizers are a tad pricey ($9.99 for mozzarella sticks), but don’t worry. On your table will be a plate of Continue Reading »

YOTVETA

Posted on December 11, 2009

Located in Queens along Union Tpk, Yotveta is an Israeli style dairy restaurant. Under the Queens Vaad, the restaurant is located at 188 Street on Union Turnpike in Jamaica Estates. The restaurant is smallish and almost always crowded. Due to inadequate sound proofing, conversation is often impossible as the combined decibel level in the place Continue Reading »

TITO BRAVO

Posted on December 2, 2009

Finding good pizza in Israel (kosher of course) is no less difficult than it is in America. There is no shortage of kosher pizza shops in either place, but finding one that actually makes a pizza you would go back to again and again is hard work. Well, in Jerusalem you can actually find really Continue Reading »

THE DAN PANORAMA HOTEL IN JERUSALEM

Posted on December 1, 2009

Long time readers of this blog know that I always stay at the Dan P when I am in Israel. I have long maintained that the hotel is my home in Israel. The hotel is a wonderful place to stay- the rooms are lovely, the staff incredible, the food excellent, and all around a great Continue Reading »
